Aspiring to Include is the latest website to join our careers network. It is part of the Diverse Careers hub and is dedicated to changing the world of work for the better. By assisting employers on their journey to greater inclusivity, and supporting jobseekers to overcome any barriers they may face to a successful, safe and meaningful career, we will help to create more equality and acceptance in the workplace.
Our website uses the protected characteristics outlined in the 2010 Equality Act as a guide to understanding who faces discrimination in our society. From these characteristics, we were able to determine which identities and groups of people are the least represented in the workplace, and need the most support. This information then formed our user groups:
- Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME)
- LGBTQ+
- Migrants and Refugees
- Faith and Religion
- Socioeconomic backgrounds
- Women
Aspiring to Include demonstrates why Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), matter so much in the workplace. Our website provides a wealth of useful support for job seekers who might feel unrepresented at work, such as information about the gender pay gap, the employment gap, employment rights, and a helpful jobs board, where they can find career opportunities in companies who are committed to inclusivity.
We enable businesses and organisations to become more inclusive and make a positive impact on people’s lives with our guidance for employers. You will find useful information about how to improve EDI in the workplace, training, and much more.
Our website helps people connect with employers that advocate inclusive jobs through our Company Profiles. Moreover, our Events Calendar enables businesses to stay up to date about significant awareness days and further showcase their commitment.
